10. Mr. Sinister’s hold on Psylocke

Comic book: Hellions No. 7

Watching Psylocke be easily persuaded to take the lead on Mr. Sinister’s team seemed fishy – even more so when Alex Summer (Havok) asked how she got roped into this and she didn’t say anything. She just looked at him. As the series progressed, we noticed Psylocke had no issues with doing whatever Sinister wanted. In the most recent issue, Psylocke threatened to beat down her teammates if they didn’t follow Sinister’s orders. We found out why soon after – Sinister had found Psylocke’s daughter in a digital form. What does this mean? Who knows, but be certain we’ll find out soon.

Why is this important?

Mr. Sinister has become a sassy and sometimes silly man. That shouldn’t fool you. He’s also incredibly intelligent and deviant. Sinister having something over Psylocke means that she will do anything he wants – so much so that she was willing to fight her teammates (including Havok) to protect Sinister. Two questions come to mind here. First, does she want Sinister to clone her daughter or just know that she’s alive? Second, how much can Psylocke take before she’s had enough? We’ve already seen that he’s willing to kill his own team to keep his secrets. Eventually, Sinister will go too far and she’ll rebel. Knowing Sinister, he’ll have a way out of whatever comes his way.
