3. Cracks in Reality

While technically not just one moment, the first two episodes of the series have already showcased some cracks in the seemingly joyous reality Wanda and Vision are living in. And boy, does Wanda look horrified every time she sees this.

The first comes when Wanda finds a red helicopter sitting on top of the hedges. What makes the helicopter stand out is that it is the only thing in color in the scene as the sitcom has been playing out in black and white. The helicopter also features an emblem of a sword on it, hinting that it may have been placed there by S.W.O.R.D., who make their debut in the series.

Seeing as though Geraldine, who is actually an adult Monica Rambeau (from Captain Marvel), appears shortly after the helicopter is revealed, it could be assumed that the character is behind its placement in Wanda’s front yard.

Wanda looks terrified by this, but is soon distracted by a meeting about the Talent Show happening in the neighbourhood. This brings the introduction of Dottie (Emma Caulfield Ford), who seems to run the Westview community.

Dottie reveals after the meeting that she knows something about Wanda and Vision. This causes Wanda to panic, as someone tries to communicate with her over the radio. This results in a tense scene, where the glass in Dottie’s hand smashes, making her bleed, which is also featured in a dark red colour as opposed to the black-and-white tone of the series thus far. After this occurs, Dottie begins to act as if nothing had happened.

The scenes made fans feel tense and intrigued, as Wanda begins to discover the cracks in her reality. However, these instances were not the only cracks in reality showcased throughout the second episode..
