Who is Geraldine really?

Due to the promotion of WandaVision, enough viewers already knew that Geraldine’s (Teyonah Parris) real name isn’t Geraldine. Her real name is Monica Rambeau, the daughter of Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch), the best friend of Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers (Brie Larsen). Comic fans also know Monica as being the superhero Spectrum, and before that, the second Captain Marvel. And apparently in the MCU, she’s also an undercover operative for S.W.O.R.D.

Too bad “Geraldine” decided to wear a sword pendant; even Wanda spotted that one. Or, considering how she seemed brainwashed like everyone else in Westview, maybe this was a part of her true identity starting to leak out. Less obvious, though, is how “Geraldine’s” style and fashion also pointed to her comic book origins. Her predominantly white mod outfit hints to the costume she wears in the comics. Even her afro is a callback to Monica’s original comic book appearances when she was Captain Marvel.

As for how Monica got into Westview – or as we now know, Wanda’s sitcom-inspired pocket dimension – we’ll just have to wait and see. And if there’s any other residents like Agnes (Kathryn Hahn) and Herb (David Payton) who seem to know a lot more about what’s really happening than they’ve been letting on.
