Big things are coming from the DCEU with several movies slated to hit the big screen and HBO Max in the future. And DC has a ton of characters they could feature.

Warner Bros.’ head of DC Films, Walter Hamada, dropped some major news about the direction the DCEU is taking in the coming years. Since Hamada took over in 2018, there have been some noticeable changes. The latest and greatest, being the announcement about Hamada’s plan to release several DC films over the next few years.

DC is looking to dominate the world of comic book movies with an average of six films per year. Fans of DC Comics can only imagine what Hamada and co. have in mind for their future films. Hamada will utilize the big-screen for established, box-office DC characters while streaming service HBO Max will serve as a home for lesser-known DC characters.

There’s a strategy Hamada and co are employing with their heroes. Hamada hasn’t shied away from bringing “lesser-known” DC characters to the big screen. For example, Shazam’s arch-nemesis, Black Adam is finally making his way to the big screen. Hardcore DC Comics fans know his name but he isn’t necessarily a DC character that comes to mind when asking novice fans. However, with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson set to play him in the upcoming movie, you ban that will make him a household name.

It’s safe to say that the DCEU machine is just getting started under Hamada. Rumors of a few characters getting the movie spotlight they deserve already has fans excited. Characters like Green Lantern, Static Shock, Batgirl, Constantine, and Zatanna are all rumored to be starring in films at some point. With Warner Bros  going all-in on DC, there are a few characters we want to see get their own movie.

Booster Gold – HBO Max

Casual fans may not know the name Booster Gold. After all, he’s the greatest hero you never heard of. However, a movie about the boastful hero from the future will be, well… gold. And it could very well make Booster Gold a household name.

In the year 2442, before becoming a hero, Michael Carter was a football star. Unfortunately, he was kicked off his football team after betting on his own games. While working for a museum, Michael became fed up with his life. So, he stole a Legion Ring, a super-suit, and other gadgets. He traveled to the 21st Century took on the name Booster Gold, becoming “the hero we never heard of”.

The right actor could really bring the hero to life. For Booster, we need an athletic actor who could pull off a smart mouth douche with insecurities. Power Rangers and Stranger Things actor Dacre Montgomery has the look to pull of the once-popular football star and he had shown how excellent he can be at playing such roles through his character on Stranger Things. Could he star in an action comedy Booster Gold movie titled The Greatest Story Never Told on HBO Max?
