Green Arrow – In Theaters

For years, Stephen Amell became something else, the founding father of the Arrowverse, Oliver Queen. Unfortunately, Arrow has come to an end after an epic series finale. With Amell hanging up the hood, the DCEU could take the character to the big screen now and introduce fans to a new Emerald Archer.

Hamada has an opportunity to give fans a different take on Oliver Queen. A big-screen adaption reminiscent of Andy Diggle and illustrator Jock’s Green Arrow: Year One. The 2007 six-issue series followed the origins of Oliver’s journey to becoming the politically savvy bow-wielder.

In Year One, Oliver goes on a trip with a friend Hackett, who’s been ordered to kill him. Instead, Hackett knocks Oliver out and dumps him overboard. Armed with a makeshift bow and arrows, Oliver must fend off the drug runners sent to kill him. While surviving, Ollie becomes a breaker of chains, freeing slaves becoming what he was destined to be.

A movie about a spoiled playboy forced to fight for survival before becoming a hero is made for the big screen. Picture a low-budget gritty offering in the vein of Joker starring someone like Garrett Hedlund, in a film that predates the current DCEU timeline. The Justice League is missing a member with Cyborg gone, so it’s time for the Green Arrow to debut.
