DCEU: 8 DC characters who deserve their own film

Dick Grayson – In Theaters

Tell me a sidekick more beloved than Batman’s Dick Grayson, aka the first Robin aka Nightwing. The truth is that there isn’t any. We have more Batman movies than any other comic book character, but no one truly explored the true reach of his universe. With yet another Batman trilogy underway, this DCEU expansion must give us a Dick Grayson movie.

Rumors about a Nightwing movie surfaced online years ago. However, reports have since surfaced that Matt Reeves has plans to use Dick Grayson in one of his three films. If true, once the World’s Greatest Sidekick makes his long-awaited DC Films debut – be it in Reeves’ trilogy or the DCEU – he should set out on his solo journey, kind of. However, his movie shouldn’t be a solo film, but a way to introduce the world to other sidekicks, Young Justice.

The team of discarded sidekicks looking to make a name for themselves deserves a movie adventure to do just that. The popularity of the Young Justice animated series has endured and with the revived show ongoing, imagine seeing the critically-acclaimed team come to life in live-action on the big screen too. What better way than to have a disgruntled Robin running to Aqualad and Kid Flash. Actor David Mazouz – who portrayed Bruce Wayne in Gotham – would absolutely kill it if he returned to DC in the future; this time as Dick Grayson.

Imagine, three teens on a mission calling themselves Young justice. A trilogy writes itself thanks to the comics and animated series. This could take the DCEU in another direction, making the possibilities endless. Who knows, we could then even get a Young Justice v Justice League!

Whatever happens, Dick Grayson deserves his chance to shine in a film.
