6. Anti-Life Zombies

Comic book: DCeased

In the DCeased reality, Darkseid changed the Anti-Life Equation. He added a piece of death from the Black Racer and it corrupted it. With Cyborg’s DNA, it made it digital, so when Cyborg was sent back to earth, his systems went online and connected to the world – resulting in anyone who looked at something connected to the internet was infected and turned into something zombie-like.

Instead of eating, they killed everything that wasn’t like them. However, the virus could be spread through blood digital imagery. This included super-beings like Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Superman. Currently, Superman is draining the sun of its energy in hopes of extinguishing life on Earth. As of now, the Earth is still inhabited by beings of death created by the new Anti-Life Equation.

In this series, Hal Jordan, Wonder Woman, and even Batman were among the heroes to be taken over. As grim as this was, there was some good that came out of it. We saw how the new generation of heroes dealt with adversity. Damian Wayne became Batman, Jonathan Kent took his father’s mantle of Superman and Cassandra Sandsmark became Wonder Woman. Dinah Lance became Green Lantern as well. Each hero proved to be amazing and, all in all, offered a cool change of pace among all the carnage.
