Riverdale season 5, episode 4 preview: 5 huge things to look out for post-time-jump
2. Barchie (done right this time)
Things may change a great deal in Riverdale (the town) in the seven years that we’re skipping but it’s clear that not an awful lot will change in Riverdale (the show)… because Archie Andrews getting steamy in the shower is still a thing, apparently.
Archie will return home to find things much different than the way he left them but, at some point or another, he’ll end up crossing paths with the girl next door – or, at the very least, the girl who once lived next door. He and Betty will make it their mission (along with some other familiar faces) to save Riverdale but a certain trailer suggests that the pair will grow closer.
The blonde-haired-woman and the red-headed young man in the shower does suggest we’ll finally see Betty and Archie get together properly this time.
The pair’s previous kiss was, of course, controversial because, in a very out-of-character moment, they betrayed Jughead and Veronica. Not only did that ruin an arc that the show had occasionally teased throughout its run, it very nearly destroyed the characters involved.
Thankfully, there will be no cheating this time as they are no longer in relationships this time around and are free to enjoy each other’s company – something that’s a pretty exciting prospect!
That said, don’t be too worried “Bughead” and “Varchie” fans, because between Jughead’s return and Veronica’s inevitable short-lived marriage with Chad, something tells us it won’t be too long before Riverdale‘s endgame couples are back together.
Speaking of which…
