The commercial in WandaVision Episode 6 may have been the most terrifying moment of the season so far, but it was nowhere near as terrifying as the meaning behind it.

WandaVision has been teasing fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a series of commercial breaks running throughout its episodes. Over the course of the Disney Plus show’s run, we’ve seen nods to Stark Industries, Baron von Strucker, Hydra and Lagos. The latest, however, was undoubtedly the most jarring of them all.

A loud and colorful commercial designed to match the ’90s aesthetic of the Malcom In The Middle-inspired episode, it featured a young man stranded on a desert island. After commenting on how hungry he was, a shark popped put of the water with sunglasses and a surfboard, offering him a chance to survive by having some “Yo-magic, bro”.

The shark then gave the man some Yo-magic and popped back into the sea after seemingly saving the day. However, the hungry individual was unable to open the container because his hands were shaking (perhaps caused by how cold the Yomagic container was). And after some days and nights passed, he eventually died.

What does the Yo-magic commercial mean in WandaVision?

The previous WandaVision commercials have been either Easter Eggs or references to Marvel’s past. This one, however, is an eerie nod to what’s to come in the MCU. Well, for Vision at least – at the very least, in fact.

Yo-magic is a reference to Wanda Maximoff’s own magic. This isn’t all that surprising considering that the Scarlet Witch is the MCU’s most powerful sorceress but, as fans have pointed out on social media, the Yo-magic wasn’t able to save the young man on the desert island.

Episode 6 was all about staying away from the edge of Westview but Vision needed to know what was on the other side. With that, the Avenger discovered that he wasn’t actually alive in the real world and subsequently began to disintegrate when exiting the energy field.

Just like Yo-magic couldn’t save the man on the island, Wanda’s magic can’t save Vision in spite of how likely her doing so should be. And considering Jimmy Woo questioned whether the people near the edge of Westview were even alive anymore, her magic could end up having the opposite effect and taking the residents’ lives – just like Yo-magic ended up doing to the young man in the commercial.
