Justice League: Snyder Cut’s new writer could be a game-changer
Zack Snyder’s Justice League added another writer and this writer could have major implications on the plot of the movie.
With the extended cut for Zack Snyder’s Justice League – a.k.a. “The Snyder Cut” – only just a month away, the anticipation is mounting for the DCEU film. Over the past couple of months, we have seen posters, trailers, teasers and the confirmation of the release date make their way around the internet as Zack Snyder continues to make the most of this pre-release period.
The film has also gained an additional writer it seems. As reported by The Direct, Reddit user QuickTik has pointed out that Gangster Squad and Aquaman screenwriter, Will Beall, has been added to the credits of the Snyder Cut in the press release.
The game-changing Knightmare scene in Zack Snyder’s Justice League
It is no secret that the Watchmen and 300 filmmaker is attempting to go big with his four hour-long director’s cut and Beall’s inclusion as a writer suggests we will undoubtedly see that – because months after the divisive theatrical cut of Justice League was released in 2017, The Wrap revealed details of a 2011 draft of the film script by Beall which reportedly features elements quite like Snyder’s “Knightmare” sequence from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (that will once again play into his version of Justice League).

The Direct theorizes that the “Knightmare” sequence could unfold in Zack Snyder’s Justice League during its third act and, with Beall involved now, it’s likely that it could indeed play a larger role than expected. As it was completely removed from the theatrical version of the film, it’s impossible to truly know where it will make its presence felt in Snyder’s version.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League stars an ensemble cast including Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.
Zack Snyder is, of course, directing the film with his story from a screenplay by Chris Terrio and Will Beall. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing “The Snyder Cut” for Warner Bros. in association with Atlas Entertainment and The Stone Quarry.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is set to drop on HBO Max on March 18, 2021.
