Who is the Blue Marvel and why debut in WandaVision?

Blue Marvel is a hero that made his first appearance in 2008 in Legend of the Blue Marvel. His story says that he’s been around since before JFK was president. He was saving the world and was, at one point in time, the most beloved hero on Earth. That was until his mask was ripped.

After the world discovered he was black, there was controversy (this was the 1960s in America). After that, the president asked him to retire. An unfortunate moment, but Adam got the hint. He wasn’t going to protect a world that couldn’t accept him for who he was – despite the fact that saving their lives countless times. Decades later, an old enemy of Adam’s returned and got him back in the saddle. Blue Marvel was back!

There are a couple of important things to know about Blue Marvel. First, he’s one of the most powerful beings in the universe. He’s beaten the Sentry in a fight and knocked out a Hulk with one punch. Second, and most important, he’s one of the smartest people on Earth. So much that even Reed Richards and T’Challa go to him when they’re stumped. This is one of the reasons why Monica would go to him. He’s more than capable of figuring out how to stop or contain the power Wanda is using. It also helps that Monica has a connection to him in the comics as well. They were teammates on one of Marvel’s best teams, the Ultimates.
