A simple recast

As Darcy Lewis questioned at the end of the fifth episode when Pietro first appeared, did Wanda recast Pietro? While it is one of the most boring theories and one that would undoubtedly be a let-down, it could come down to the fact that Marvel or Wanda simply recast Pietro for some reason.

While it would be a bit of a let-down, perhaps Aaron-Taylor Johnson didn’t want to return to the role (or maybe he wasn’t available) or perhaps Marvel decided that they liked Evan Peters’ portrayal of the character in the X-Men films and wanted to find a way to make him their new Pietro.

A way this could be explained is through Wanda’s reality manipulation, as she could have subconsciously changed Pietro’s appearance while trying to bring him back into this reality. This would be an easy way for Marvel to utilise Evan Peters as the character, while saving the multiverse for Spider-Man 3 and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

It is an unlikely theory, as something more sinister seems to be at play here, but it could simply be that Marvel wanted Evan Peters as their version of Pietro and can explain it away through Wanda’s powers.
