WandaVision: 5 theories about Quicksilver’s shock return

Wanda changed Pietro’s memories

As we know, Pietro was gunned down by Ultron on Sokovia as the speedster ran into the line of fire in order to save the lives of Hawkeye and a Sokovian child. This had a profound impact on Wanda, as was evident in the third episode of WandaVision when Geraldine mentioned his death.

This could have been what kickstarted Wanda subconsciously bringing back her brother, however since his body is obviously unusable now, she would have had to improvise. The result is that this “Pietro” is not the Pietro Wanda is related to, but due to her reality-altering powers she was able to implant her brother’s memories into this individual.

That leads to the question as to who this Pietro is and the truth is that there are a number of possibilities. This Pietro could simply be an actor that Wanda has control over, like the other residents of Westview, who she has manipulated to believe they are Pietro.

A more plausible theory, due to the series’ connection to the Doctor Strange sequel, is that the Pietro is a different version of the character (likely the character from the X-Men universe) that Wanda has control over and, in the process, changed his memories.

Pietro’s awareness of the reality he is living in could even be so Wanda has someone to talk to who would comfort her and support her actions.
