WandaVision returned to Disney Plus and it brought back the mid-credit scenes that the MCU are notorious for. But what does this one mean?

WandaVision is really turning up the heat as it heads towards its season finale. The Disney Plus show has played the long game since it arrived but now, with the finale in sight, things are moving at a more urgent pace – ensuring that the wait was worthwhile.

The latest episode, “Breaking The Fourth Wall”, was further proof of that as it contained some of the show’s most jaw-dropping moments yet. And one of them came in the post/mid-credit scene.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is renowned for the mid and post-credit scenes as they usually expand the universe, setting up future events. WandaVision Episode 7 was no exception.

Upon following Wanda and Agnes to the latter’s house, Monica Rambeau – who had now become the hero known as Spectrum – investigated the grounds. Upon finding the supernatural vines coming out of the cellar, she was confronted by Evan Peters’ Pietro Maximoff – who told her that “snoopers gonna snoop”.

Is Pietro the villain of WandaVision in the mid-credits scene?

It appears that Pietro really is under the tutelage of Agnes (a.k.a. Agatha Harkness) – who was responsible for bringing him to Westview. After the witch revealed that she was behind all of the madness taking place in the town, the show’s fancy “It was Agatha all along” closing/opening credits sequence revealed that she sent him there to cause some more chaos.

Does that make Pietro a villain? In theory, yes, but maybe not in the way you think. We’ve all been thinking that Pietro was actually Mephisto in disguise. However, if Agatha is actually the villainous mastermind behind everything and Mephisto isn’t the villain, then that could clear Pietro’s name – so to speak.

We’re all assuming that he could attempt to bring Monica to Agatha for snooping, but what if the “snoopers gonna snoop” was, in fact, a reference to both of them? Could he be investigating things too?

Last week’s episode began to make it look like he was the original Pietro with a new face but now we know that’s unlikely. If Pietro is a mindless drone working for Agatha, he had to come from somewhere, right? Could Agatha have plucked Peter Maximoff from the X-Men universe and simply redesigned him for WandaVision, setting up the MCU’s journey into the multiverse? And if so, perhaps Wanda’s attack on him last week freed his mind from Agatha’s control, reminding him who he really is.

WandaVision adds a new episode on Disney+ every Friday at 12:00 a.m. PT and 3:00 a.m. ET.
