WandaVision episode 8 just arrived on Disney Plus. How long is the episode’s runtime?

Because the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe TV series is the first to debut exclusively on Disney Plus, this freedom from the time constraints of network or cable TV has resulted in varying run times, which the shortest to date being the first episode, “Live in Front of a Studio Audience,” which lasted 25 minutes – about the same as the 1950s/’60s programs that inspired it like The Dick Van Dyke Show.

As the series has progressed, runtimes have gradually gotten longer, which makes sense as most broadcast fare has shifted from half-hour sitcoms to hour-length dramas.

How long is WandaVision Episode 8?

The WandaVision episode 8 runtime clocks in at a listed 47 minutes. This makes it the longest of the episodes to date, which is understandable as the series races towards its conclusion next Friday, where there are many loose ends to tie up.

Officially it clocks in at 46:03 according to the timestamp, about 10 minutes of which are credits (there is an important mid-credits scene, so stay tuned for that).

If it were a traditionally-aired series like Agents of SHIELD, each episode would come in at around 42-44 minutes to account for commercials, so a bit of extra time over that is quite appropriate.

Is the WandaVision episode 8 runtime worth it?

The short and non-spoilery answer is yes. Elizabeth Olsen shines as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, with Paul Bettany again quietly co-starring alongside her as the Vision, while Kat Dennings and Randall Park have been pleasant surprises as they bring back fan-favorite comic relief characters in Darcy Lewis (Thor) and Jimmy Woo (Ant-Man). Also, viewers were introduced to the adult version of Monica Rambeau from Captain Marvel as she adapts to the post-Blip world of spring 2023.

Wanda has found herself inside a simulation of classic sitcoms that has gradually come undone under the stress of military pressure from SWORD, only to be betrayed by one of the neighbors, further throwing the balance of reality into question.
