Who is the best character from Iron Man 2?

Marvel character: Tony Stark/Iron Man

Iron Man 2 isn’t the movie that everyone wanted to see. It lacked the same kind of flair that the previous film did. A lot of it had to do with the number of characters in the project.

There was the introduction of Black Widow and the new James Rhodes (Don Cheadle). Whiplash wasn’t a memorable villain in any way. Sam Rockwell’s Justin Hammer is an underrated villain, but he was another major character added to an already long list. This is on top of the Tony Stark and Pepper Potts storyline. There was a lot squeezed into a two-hour project.

Here comes Robert Downey Jr. to save the day again. A debate can be made for Don Cheadle’s James Rhodes. He put on a heck of a performance in his MCU debut. Nonetheless, without Tony Stark to bounce off of, Rhodey wasn’t going to carry the movie from start to finish.

Speaking of carrying, Tony carried  Whiplash. Ivan Vanko was an awful antagonist. We weren’t given much of a reason to care about him. The story about how Stark affected his family wasn’t focused on. At least not enough for it to be remembered. The moment people will remember most from Vanko is him playing with his bird. That’s just sad.

Honorable mention: James “Rhodey” Rhodes
