The Flash adds a major DC character just as it loses another
DC’s The Flash has just cast Barry Allen’s mother in the Ezra Miller-led movie but it will have to recast another character.
Following news that Kiersey Clemons has signed a deal to reprise her role as intrepid reporter Iris West in the big-screen adaptation of The Flash, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed who will be playing the Scarlet Speedster’s mother Nora Allen in the DCEU movie.
Maribel Verdú will play Barry’s mother in The Flash movie helmed by Andy Muschietti. Verdú is best known to international audiences for appearing in Alfonso Cuarón’s Y Tu Mama Tambien and Guillermo del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth. She has appeared in over 60 films and numerous shows and has been nominated for multiple awards, winning two Goya Awards.
The Flash adds a new DC character but temporarily loses one too
Unfortunately the confirmation that Nora Allen will be a part of The Flash doesn’t mean that both of Barry Allen’s parents have finally been cast as THR also revealed that Billy Crudup – who was set to reprise his Justice League role as Barry’s father, Henry Allen – has dropped out of the DCEU movie due to scheduling conflicts. Crudup has commitments with Apple’s The Morning Show and thus, a new actor will be brought in to replace the veteran.
