The truth about Chris Evans’ MCU return as Captain America revealed

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has commented on the potential MCU return of Chris Evans as Captain America.
Earlier in the year, fans were treated to reports that suggested Chris Evans was set to return to the iconic role of Steve Rogers/Captain America in a future Marvel Cinematic Universe project.
The actor last appeared as Captain America in Avengers: Endgame, where the character went back in time to live out his days with Peggy Carter, before returning to his reality to gift Falcon (Anthony Mackie) his shield.
Fans were left speculating which films and/or TV shows Evans may return in, until the actor himself denied the rumours in a cheeky tweet. Despite this, however, the MCU fans have still held out hope that Steve Rogers would be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe one day.
Is Chris Evans returning as Captain America in the MCU?
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige officially commented on the rumours in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, appearing to debunk them in a single sentence. He said:
"“I rarely answer no to anything anymore because things are always surprising me with what happens, but that rumor, I think, was dispelled rather quickly by the man himself,”"
While the pair may be hiding some secrets about a Captain America return, it seems unlikely that Evans will return to the role any time soon. As Feige mentioned, he rarely says “no” to the possibility of anything occurring in the MCU, so the fact that he effectively did here does appear to rule out Evans’ return for now.
Even though Chris Evans may not be returning to the MCU as Captain America, his presence will still be felt in Disney Plus’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series, featuring Rogers’ best friends Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan). The series will focus on Captain America’s legacy and who will carry on the mantle now that Rogers is out of the picture.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premiered on Disney+ on March 19, with new episodes being released every Friday.
