Second Unit Director of The Batman, Bradley Parker, has called the comic book adaptation “phenomenal”.

During a recent interview with ComicBookMovie.com, Bradley Parker called Matt Reeves’ upcoming The Batman “phenomenal.” Parker served as the second unit director on the film and is now currently promoting the pulse-pounding survival horror The Devil Below – his second movie as a director after Chernobyl Diaries.

The Batman exists within the DCEU multiverse and stars Robert Pattinson in the leading role. Parker’s role as second unit director on the film was not the first time he worked with director Matt Reeves as the pair also worked together on two chapters of Reeves’ Planet of the Apes reboot trilogy.

The Batman and Loki are “phenomenal”

Speaking to CBM, Parker revealed some little tidbits about what it was like working on the Robert Pattinson-led movie, telling the outlet:

"“I’ve finished filming on that. I directed the Chicago second unit. It was an absolute blast. Again, it’s playing in a much, much bigger sandbox than The Devil Below, but a lot of the same techniques and ideas apply. I love both giant movies and little movies. They’re all fun, but I’ve always loved working with Matt Reeves, and that’s another project, like Loki, which is going to be incredible. They’re both phenomenal projects.”"

Parker, who also worked as a visual effects supervisor for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe series Loki – which is set to drop on June 11, 2021, on Disney Plus – was asked whether he would like to spearhead his very own superhero movie someday. He replied:

"“I’d absolutely love that, I certainly see that in my own future. There are a couple of things I’m not really able to discuss just yet that are percolating, but if all the planets align, maybe something could happen…”"

Sounds like there could possibly be something in the pipeline for Parker, but whether it is for Marvel, DC or another production outside of the “big two” companies, we’ll just have to wait and see.

More from DCEU

Parker is a visual effects specialist, having worked on the Brad Pitt headliner Ad AstraGodzilla: King of the Monsters and Peter Pan in the special effects departments, so he’d definitely be capable of bringing a visual spectacle superhero story to the screen.

Centering on a young, but established caped–and–cowl crusader relatively early into his crime-fighting career The Batman stars Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Jayme Lawson and Peter Sarsgaard.

Matt Reeves directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Peter Craig. Reeves and Dylan Clark are producing for 6th and Idaho Productions in association with DC Films. Warner Bros. Pictures is set to distribute. The Batman recently wrapped production and is expected to hit theaters on March 4, 2022.
