Supergirl season 6 trailer reveals heartbreaking death
Supergirl season 6 finally makes it debut on screens and now The CW has unveiled an epic new trailer.
It’s been a long time since Supergirl has soared onto our screens. The veteran superhero and Arrowverse series has been a staple of television since its debut in 2015 but it hasn’t aired a new episode since May of last year when it ended its divisive fifth season on a strong note with an episode that served as a great impromptu finale.
The production shutdown and delays resulted in the show – and the vast majority of US TV shows – being unable to return in their typical slots. However, after a long wait, Supergirl will return for its sixth and final season on March 30.
But while things were quiet on the show updates front, they were arguably even quieter on the trailer front as The CW had yet to release a trailer for the upcoming show’s return. That is, until now.

The sixth season of Supergirl will kick off by wrapping up the overarching season 5 storylines, with the premiere (and perhaps the second episode too) serving as something of a finale for the previous season. After that, the show will kickstart the storylines it has planned for its final installment. And, judging by that trailer, it’s set to be one heck of a final installment!
Is the Girl of Steel really going to die? We know it won’t be permanent by any means, but could Lex Luthor have taken her out of play for a little while? Remember, we are approaching the original season 5 finale so death – albeit a temporary one – could be on the horizon for Kara.

Though we have all been waiting eagerly for Supergirl to return, it does feel like its premiere caught us all off-guard. The reason for that is down to the fact that it wasn’t actually meant to return yet.
Its spin-off series, the critically-acclaimed Superman and Lois, was supposed to continue its run but it has had to take a hiatus five weeks into it as the result of a production break. As a result, the Girl of Steel was called in to help her cousin out and now she will occupy the 9/8c timeslot, airing after The Flash for the next seven weeks before Superman and Lois returns. After that, Supergirl season 6 will take a hiatus of its own and return in the summer.
