6. Peacekeeper Red
Comic book: Future State Gotham No. 1
The DC Comics Future State two-month event may have ended but that doesn’t mean the timeline was destroyed. In Batman No. 106, the Magistrates are coming back into play. We’ve also discovered who Peacekeeper 01 is. If this isn’t the end, then Jason Todd (Red Hood) may end up becoming a sleeper agent looking to take down the Magistrate.
In his first issue of DC Future State Gotham, Jason takes one step closer to taking down the Magistrate as he becomes Peacekeeper Red. If he completes his mission of bringing in or killing Batman, he’ll be an official Peacekeeper. Before that can happen, though, he has to talk with Nightwing and the rest of the remaining Bat-Family.
Why is this important?
Jason has always been the member of the Bat-Family that never truly bought Batman’s philosophy. It’s one of the reasons that he’s never really been trusted by others. However, this also makes him the perfect sleeper agent. Will Jason tell Nightwing and everyone else what he’s really doing? If he does, will anyone believe him?
Speaking of being in too deep, whoever Jason’s working with doesn’t seem concerned with anything except taking down the Magistrate – even if it means bringing in an innocent Batman. The easy guess is that this mysterious person is Bruce Wayne. Is Bruce so far gone that he’ll do anything to take them down?
If this is Bruce, it isn’t the Bruce Wayne we know. He might be someone unlike what we’re used to seeing. The again, it may not be Bruce at all.
