My Adventures With Superman, a new DC animated series, has received a two-season order from HBO Max and Cartoon Network.

Superman and Batman are both set to return to TV in new animated shows. Like his darker counterpart, Superman has a rich history on the small screen but, unlike The Dark Knight, Supes’ past in animation stretches as far back as the Fleischer animated shorts from the early ’40s.

It’s been some time since we have seen a standalone Superman animated series as there was a gap in the market once Superman: The Animated Series went off the air. The Man of Steel has made appearances in animated shows such as Justice League, Batman Beyond, Justice League: Unlimited and 2004’s The Batman, as well as starring in several direct-to-video animated films.

However, there hasn’t been another standalone Superman offering until now. And that’s all about to change as it has been revealed that we can expect a new one by the name of My Adventures With Superman.

My Adventures With Superman has received a two-season order from HBO Max and Cartoon Network

It has been revealed that a new animated series, titled My Adventures with Superman, has been granted a two-season order from HBO Max and Cartoon Network, with The Boys star Jack Quaid voicing Clark Kent/Superman and Alice Lee of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist voicing Lois Lane.

This news came not long after Batman: Caped Crusader, a new animated series with Bruce Timm, J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves serving as executive producers, was also greenlit.

There is not currently much information in regards to the creative team involved but the Head of Kids & Family Programming, Amy Freedman, has made the following statement:

"“Superman has remained one of the most iconic and beloved Super Heroes in the world. This fresh take from the Warner Bros. Animation team delivers a modern relatable Clark Kent alongside a fearless, whip-smart Lois Lane who are navigating the small tasks of becoming adults and trying to save the world.”"

What is My Adventures With Superman about?

My Adventures With Superman follows Clark Kent as he is building his secret identity as the Man of Tomorrow, embracing his destiny as the champion of Metropolis – and ultimately the entire globe. Lois grows into an investigative reporter as she takes aspiring photographer, Jimmy Olsen, under her wing.

With Superman being such an iconic and familiar character, it’s nice to see some new and original interpretations of his story such as Superman and Lois and now My Adventures With Superman.
