Kraven The Hunter: Sony has finally found its Spider-Man villain in huge MCU casting
Sony has cast a huge star in the role of Kraven The Hunter and he will lead the Spider-Man villain’s upcoming solo movie.
Sony continues to build its universe of Marvel characters. The Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters (or “SPUMC” as it has affectionately become known as) already consists of Venom and it will grow with its upcoming sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage as well as the long-awaited Morbius.
These characters are essentially built around Spider-Man – who Sony agreed to share with Marvel as part of their Marvel Cinematic Universe. And that trend will continue moving forward as the company plans to bring Spidey villain Kraven the Hunter to the big screen.
Now, after much anticipation, Sony has found its star.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson cast as Kraven The Hunter in Sony film
As revealed by The Wrap, Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been cast in the role of Kraven The Hunter in the long-teased standalone Kraven movie. It will indeed serve as the next installment of Sony’s Marvel Universe and it will be directed by J.C. Chandor. Moreover, according to the report, Taylor-Johnson will appear in “multiple” movies as the character.

The star is no stranger to the Marvel world. He previously portrayed Pietro Maximoff, a.k.a. Quicksilver, in the MCU, appearing alongside his Godzilla co-star Elizabeth Olsen in Avengers: Age of Ultron back in 2015. While fans thought he would return in this year’s critically-acclaimed WandaVision (which starred Olsen in the leading role), he ultimately did not.
Johnson is an incredible actor so it really does go without saying that he’ll do a fine job of bringing Kraven to life in Kraven The Hunter.
