Michael Keaton will reprise his role as Batman in The Flash and these epic new set photos have given us our first glimpse at the return of his classic Bruce Wayne.

Batman returns. Yes, that is the title of the 1992 Tim Burton sequel starring Michael Keaton as the Caped Crusader (which just so happened to turn 29 yesterday) but we’re not talking about that classic right now. We are talking about the fact that Keaton is reprising his role for the first time in almost three decades in the upcoming film The Flash.

Announced last summer, the veteran actor is scheduled to bring Bruce Wayne back to the big screen in the DCEU-set movie – one that is poised to reboot the entire shared universe.

At one point it seemed like he may not be able to return due to the travel involved, but after confirming that he would in fact star in the movie, recent set photos have now revealed our first look at his iconic hero’s return.

New photos from the set of The Flash have been posted by Daily Mail and they feature a number of interesting reveals about the movie. One of the most important, however, is the first look at Michael Keaton back in his role as Bruce Wayne.

More from DCEU

Standing alongside the movie’s star, Ezra Miller, on the cathedral steps in London, Keaton suited up as his legendary Bruce Wayne. Instantly recognizable as his version of the character (with the same hairstyle too), Keaton’s Batman is expected to serve as a mentor to Miller’s Barry Allen, perhaps even gifting the Scarlet Speedster with a new suit.

The pair were also joined on set by Sasha Calle as the first shots of her in costume as Supergirl also surfaced online.

Moreover, the set also features a surprising reference to Gal Gadot’s DCEU Wonder Woman.
