After several delays, fans are finally getting the chance to enjoy a Marvel Cinematic Universe film for the first time in two years and the film has quickly proven to be well worth the wait. Black Widow arrives in theaters and on Disney Plus via Premier Access on Friday, July 9 in a film that finally allows the character of Natasha Romanoff to take center stage for the first time since making her debut in Iron Man 2.

** Warning the following post contains spoilers from Marvel’s Black Widow **

In the film, fans watch as Natasha confronts her past in reuniting with the people she once called family to bring down the Red Room once and for all.

The feature is a true celebration of one of Marvel’s most underrated heroes, with a supporting cast filled with loveable new characters including Florence Pugh’s Yelena, David Harbour’s Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz’s Melina.

Do any Marvel characters appear in Black Widow?

Although Marvel is known for sneaking in cameos from other heroes as part of its connected universe, Black Widow surprisingly only features one major MCU cameo from a character not previously confirmed to appear in the film.

While the film does name drop a few iconic heroes such as Hawkeye and Captain America, there is surprisingly only one Marvel Cinematic Universe cameo in the film — and you have to wait until the very end of the feature for the moment.

In the post-credit scene from the film, we’re treated to a surprise cameo from Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, a role first introduced in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

As we discover, in the present day, Yelena is working for Val and Val has tracked her down in order to personally deliver her next target: Clint Barton.

Although it was disappointing that the film did not find a way to incorporate a cameo from any of Scarlett Johansson’s Avengers co-stars, the cameo from Julia Louis-Dreyfus was quite the game-changing moment for the MCU with Val becoming the first Disney Plus original character to make the jump to the big screen!

Don’t miss Black Widow in theaters and on Disney Plus via Premier Access beginning Friday, June 9.
