This iconic Marvel hero may finally be getting their own solo movie

A new rumor suggests that Marvel Comics’ illusive Black Cat may finally headline her own solo movie.

It sounds like a certain Marvel femme fatale could be about to get her own standalone movie as rumors of a once-shelved Black Cat movie have resurfaced. According to That Hashtag Show, Sony Pictures are indeed having another go at developing a Black Cat movie.

The report also suggests that Felicity Jones – who portrayed a pre-Black Cat Felicia Hardy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 – is being eyed to return but that it could be a different version of the character this time around as there will be no direct reference to her previous appearance in the Marc Webb film.

The film’s screenplay, apparently, has gone through some rewrites already with the latest draft being penned by “a small indie writer-director” with more rewrites set to take place after that.

For those unaware, Sony ceased development of the dark team-up film Silver & Black back in 2018. It would have featured both Silver Sable and Black Cat and would have been helmed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. However, after the director spearheaded another comic book adaptation, The Old Guard, she expressed interest in returning to the cancelled project – which could potentially be revived has an original series on Disney Plus.
