Aliens vs X-Men
Comic book: X-Men No. 1
The X-Men are back in New York with a new home base and roster. Cyclops and Jean Grey will lead Rogue, Sunfire, Wolverine (Laura Kinney), Synch, and Polaris as the alpha team. Their first mission was a success. A giant alien machine came to Earth and hit New York with a psychic attack.
After the X-Men defeated the giant robot, we see who really sent it. This wasn’t a race of people who hate mutants. They were aliens betting on whether or not they could beat Earthlings. This looks like a trend that will continue for the foreseeable future.
Why is this important?
Somehow the X-Men rack up more villains than most super teams. This series began with a guy who’s mad that they transformed Mars before he could. He’ll be out for revenge. The end of the issue showed that someone knows that Krakoa is resurrecting mutants.
Now, we see that aliens are betting on who can beat people on Earth. All of this is on the X-Men’s plate and this is only issue No. 1. Who knows what these aliens will send next. This is only the beginning. Nothing ever comes easy with the X-Men.
