Titans season 3 has arrived and it it made sure that it did so in typically violent fashion.

**This article contains major spoilers for Titans season 3 **

Titans isn’t one for holding back. Ever since it premiered on DC Universe in 2018, the show has made it clear that it isn’t afraid to deviate from fans’ expectations, be it in regards to the Batman mythos or the violent approach with which it tackles it.

Now, here we are three years later, and Titans has unveiled a third season that is once again ready to prove that. The first three episodes were released to HBO Max and all three of them feature some of the show’s most shocking moments to date.

They also feature some surprising deaths (or the confirmation of deaths) that fans didn’t see coming.

Who dies in the Titans season 3 premiere?

Titans season 3 premiered with the death that we all saw coming as Jason Todd’s heavily-promoted transformation into Red Hood all started with the Boy Wonder’s death at the hands of The Joker.

However, Robin’s violent death wasn’t the only death that featured in the season 3 premiere. No, “Barbara Gordon” also informed us that Bruce Wayne’s faithful butler, friend and father figure Alfred Pennyworth had died some time between the events of seasons 2 and 3. And then there’s Commissioner Gordon who was killed at some point by Mr. Freeze (though that one could have happened a long time ago).

The biggest shocker of them all, however, came when Bruce Wayne woke Dick Grayson up during the night to reveal that he, dressed as Batman, went to Arkham Asylum and brutally slayed The Joker with a crowbar, doing to his archenemy what he had done to Jason.

So, yes, Titans was full of shocks in the season 3 premiere and that doesn’t even account for the events that transpired in episodes 2 and 3.

Titans season 3 releases new episodes on HBO Max on Thursdays.
