2. What’s going on with Kory?

Kory Anders is one of the Titans‘ most powerful heroes, so the fact that she’s been feeling pretty helpless is clearly getting to her. With unexpected visions, speaking Tamaranean and unknowingly attacking her friends, something is very wrong with Starfire and she’s struggling to figure out what it is.

There is a strong chance that this could be stress related to all of the tragedy that the Titans have experienced recently (with the deaths of Donna, Jason and now Hank all weighing on them) but there is also the arrival of her sister to consider.

Blackfire’s guest appearances have quickly highlighted that she’s not to be trifled with, so could she be playing games with her sister? We’ll have to wait and see.

1. Is Hank really dead?

No moment in the first three episodes of Titans season 3 was more shocking than the final one: Dawn Granger pulling the trigger of a gun to save Hank Hall, only to unwittingly trigger the device designed to kill him. As the bomb exploded seconds before Superboy could make the save, it became clear that an era had ended for Titans.

It’s hard to believe that Hawk is gone but that definitely seems like the route the show is going. Sure, this is the same show that brought Jason Todd back to life in about 40 minutes, so there is always a chance that Hank will ultimately return (anything is possible in the comic book genre) but Alan Ritchson’s new role suggests that the show (well, the present day Titans at least) is bidding the hero goodbye.

Titans season 3, episode 4 premieres on HBO Max on Thursday, August 19.
