Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer: 5 burning questions from the No Way Home trailer
By Liam Clark
Is Spider-Man: No Way Home adapting One More Day?
The infamous storyline from Marvel Comics may seemingly be receiving an adaption in the film, which leads to questions as to how heavily it will be adapted. In the comics, Peter seeks help in saving his Aunt May, who has been shot and will surely perish. He tries to get Doctor Strange, Doctor Doom and others to help, but ultimately has to make a deal with the devil (Mephisto) who saves Aunt May and makes the world forget Spider-Man’s identity at the price of Peter’s marriage to Mary Jane.
An adaptation of this storyline seems likely, as Doctor Strange seems to want to make the world forget Peter’s identity. However, doing so will make Ned, Aunt May and MJ forget about Peter’s life as a superhero. This could result in Peter losing his relationship with MJ as she would not remember the events the pair experienced in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
However, it will be interesting to see whether the film will utilise Mephisto as the one to make the world forget that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. While it seems likely that it will still be Doctor Strange that casts the spell or that Peter simply decides to revoke his secret identity.
With all the rumours that surrounded Mephisto making his MCU debut in WandaVision, it would not be a shock to see the character appear in No Way Home or a future Phase 4 film. However, with so many big cameos and appearances set to take place in the film, adding another major Marvel character to the mix may be difficult.
