Producer Hiram Garcia teases DC’s League of Super-Pets.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the busiest actors in Hollywood today. With plenty on the horizon for WWE’s “Great One”, some of the projects he is currently participating in are the action-thriller Red Notice and the DCEU movie Black Adam.

But the latter isn’t the only DC movie that The Rock is taking part in as he will also lend his talents to the highly-anticipated DC’s League of Super-Pets, voicing Krypto the Superdog.

What can we expect from DC’s League of Super-Pets?

In an interview with Collider, president of production at Seven Bucks Productions, Hiram Garcia, discussed Johnson’s busy schedule, his commitment to the Black Adam character and, of course, how excited they all are to bring DC’s League of Super-Pets to the screen. He commented:

"“It’s a lot of fun. As a Superman fan and a huge dog lover, having the ability to tell the story of Krypto and Superman is a dream come true! It’s such a charming story and then in addition we get to introduce the league of Super-Pets and all those wonderful characters.”"

He went on to tease what fans can expect from the cast, particularly Johnson and Kevin Hart (who voices Ace the Bat-Hound), saying:

"“We have such an amazing cast of actors, and anytime you get Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart together doing what they do, you know it’s going to be big fun ride for audiences. This is such a huge project that we’ve been working on for a while so we were thrilled when we finally made the announcement… to be able to play in this space and tell these stories, based on these beloved characters, is truly an honor."

He also believes that fans will be “very happy with what [they have] been cooking up.” From this statement, it’s clear that Garcia and everyone involved is excited about both Super-Pets and Black Adam. Moreover, it’s always possible that we can look forward to subsequent DC films from Garcia and Johnson, whether that be standalone films that feature Black Adam or ensemble projects like Shazam!.

Garcia also revealed that he and Johnson had discussed some potential ideas with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige in regards to The Rock joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe but that the pair always had their hearts set on DC’s Black Adam.

DC’s League of Super-Pets stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Kate McKinnon, John Krasinski, Vanessa Bayer, Natasha Lyonne, Diego Luna, Jameela Jamil and Keanu Reeves.

Jared Stern is co-directing with Sam Levine from a screenplay he has co-written with John Whittington. Johnson, Hiram Garcia, Dany Garcia, Patricia Hicks and Stern are producing the animated feature for Warner Animation Group in association with Seven Bucks Productions and A Stern Talking To.
