Marvel Studios’ What If…? is winding down. The most recent episode of the Disney Plus series, the sixth one in the series, showed us a major development, imagining what would happen if Tony Stark and Erik Killmonger worked together? We found out that it came with the death of Tony Stark, T’Challa, James “Rhodey” Rhodes and an untold amount of nameless people. Killmonger also became Black Panther and started a war between Wakanda and the United States.
So what’s next for What If…? Well, we saw clips of him in a Hyundai commercial as well as in clips of What If…?‘s previous trailers. Now, he’ll make his long-awaited debut. That’s right, Party Thor will be in the next episode of What If…? But who is Party Thor? So far, we don’t know the exact details.
What can we expect from this one? First, definitely some fun. Thor will be the energetic God of Thunder that cares more about mead and battle than the affairs of the Nine Realms. And if there’s a party involved, we can presume that he’s on Sakaar and that Grandmaster is involved. First, The Grandmaster was entertaining in Thor: Ragnarok. Second, he’s voiced by Jeff Goldblum and who doesn’t love him? Maybe we’ll actually get to see them party with Thor on his birthday ship, who knows?
If Thor is out having a blast, what does that mean for the rest of the Nine Realms? He was their protector, after all. Does that mean there won’t be any Avengers? Did someone replace him on the roster? Is Asgard in ruins? What happened to Thor to turn him into someone so care free? We’ll have to wait and see.
