Harley Quinn season 3 is not coming to HBO Max in October 2021

Harley Quinn season 3 will not be making its presence felt on HBO Max this month. 

Harley Quinn has quickly become one of the most popular animated TV shows in recent memory. The DC Comics-inspired series features the titular antiheroine in some of her most outlandish adventures yet and fans absolutely loved it.

There is always a risk when adapting beloved franchise characters into a boundary-pushing project, particularly when it comes to DC or Marvel comic books as much of the fanbase is made up of young people, but Harley Quinn was a resounding success.

The show aired two seasons on the DC Universe streaming service before the platform was evolved into a comics-only service. While its fate was temporarily up in the air, fans were hopeful that it would be moved to WarnerMedia’s other streamer HBO Max. That’s exactly what happened when the announcement about the DC Universe’s fate was made.

It has been some time since we have had any new updates in regards to Harley Quinn‘s release and it seems we’ll have to wait a little longer for it to make its presence felt. HBO Max has released its line-up for October 2021 and, unfortunately, Harley Quinn season 3 is not part of it.

Harley Quinn season 3 release date

There has been no official confirmation as to when exactly Harley Quinn season 3 will premiere on HBO Max, but showrunner Justin Halpert did suggest that it could come out in late 2021 or early 2022.

Recording for the show began in February and animation can take a long time to bring together, which is one of the reasons Halpert cited on the Masters of None podcast when discussing the lengthy wait for the third season.

Needless to say, fans are excited for more Harley and Ivy and can’t wait for the pair to return in season 3.
