Mjolnir has been stolen
Comic book: Thor No. 17
Since the beginning of Donny Cates’ run of Thor, the God of Thunder has been having issues wielding Mjolnir. Sometimes it’s difficult for him to lift it because it feels heavier than it should. There have also been times when others have lifted it and gained the power of Thor. Even Loki was able to lift it.
In Thor No. 15, the Odinson left his hammer with Captain America in Avengers Mountain. Thor said that he could no longer wield it and be a good king. During a talk with his mother in Thor No. 17, he gets a call from Captain America. Mjolnir was stolen from Avengers Mountain.
Why is this important?
First, whoever stole Mjolnir has the skill to break into Avengers Mountain undetected. Even more so, it’s not like they can just take a bus there. Avengers Mountain is in the North Pole. This means they’d have to have a means of transport. Second, they had to know it was there. More than likely, it was Loki.
This writer doubts that Loki did this for evil reasons. He hasn’t been the God of Lies he once was for some time. This is on top of the fact that he is one of the few people in any realm that could sneak into Avengers Mountain undetected. He may have stolen it to keep it safe. Or he’s curious about being able to use it. Could Loki be the next God of Thunder while Thor is ruling Asgard?
