Winter Hulk is going after Namor

Comic book: Avengers No. 48

Jennifer Walters was captured by the Winter Guard in Avengers No. 46. Vampires fed on her in order to make them stronger. It looks like it helped to brainwash and transform her as well. Her skin turned red and her black hair turned blond. She’s now the Winter Hulk.

At first, it seemed like the Winter Guard just wanted a Hulk on their team. Who wouldn’t? A Hulk is an almost unstoppable force. Even if that’s the case, the Winter Hulk had a target. The Winter Guard wanted her to kill the King of Atlantis, Namor.

Why is this important?

Namor is alone in Atlantis. Winter Hulk has destroyed all of the Atlantean guards in her way and made a B-line for Namor. This is going to be a heck of a fight. Namor may have been defeated during Enter the Phoenix and Winter Hulk is one of the strongest, but never count Namor out. He’s been outmatched before and came out on top. Even if he loses, Atlantis will be destroyed again.

How Namor reacts after that will be crucial. Will he rekindle his war on the surface world? Will he disappear for a while? Or, and here’s something to think about, will Namor take Xavier and Magneto up on their offer to come to Krakoa (see Hellfire Gala for that encounter)?
