Riverdale season 6: Premiere, release date, cast, trailer and more
Now that season 5 has wrapped up, Riverdale season 6 is upon us. Here is everything you need to know about it, including its cast, any trailers, release date and more.
Riverdale has taken a short leave of absence from The CW after the conclusion of its fifth season but it will return in the coming weeks with new episodes from its sixth.
Season 5 saw the series stage something of a rebirth as it jumped forward seven years in time to give fans a glimpse of what its characters are like as adults. Though some things changed, a lot of them stayed the same, including the town’s penchant for mystery and madness.
With season 5 leaving things in a very different place, all eyes turn to the upcoming sixth season for answers.
Below, you’ll find all the up-to-date information you need about Riverdale season 6, its premiere on The CW, its cast, any trailers and more.
Riverdale season 6 premiere date
Riverdale season 6 will premiere on The CW on Tuesday, November 16, at 9:00 p.m. ET. It will then run for five weeks, showcasing a special five-episode event before taking its annual midseason hiatus. When it returns the season’s storyline will officially kick off.
This marks the first time since the show’s second season that Riverdale has moved nights and it’s also the very first time it has aired in the later 9:00 p.m. ET. timeslot. It will air after new episodes of The Flash season 8 (which also returns for a five-episode event this year).
Riverdale season 6 cast
While things looked pretty different in Riverdale after its seven-year time-jump, the vast majority of familiar faces returned, meaning that it’s highly likely most of them will return for the follow-up in season 6.
However, it has been confirmed that Mark Consuelos will be departing as a series regular, so the season 5 finale was the last we’ll see of Hiram Lodge on a full-time basis for the time being.
As of writing, here are the expected cast members for Riverdale season 6:
- KJ Apa as Archie Andrews
- Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper
- Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge
- Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones
- Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom
- Casey Cott as Kevin Keller
- Charles Melton as Reggie Mantle
- Vanessa Morgan as Toni Topaz
- Drew Ray Tanner as Fangs Fogarty
- Erinn Westbrook as Tabitha Tate
- Mädchen Amick as Alice Smith

Riverdale season 6 plot synopsis: What is it about?
The plot for Riverdale season 6 has not yet been revealed by The CW, but given how the show likes to one-up itself with a more outlandish story, expect big things from the upcoming sixth season.
From the trailer, it’s clear that the residents will attempt to establish some kind of normality in Rivervale, but with the aftermath of that shocking season 5 finale and the possibility of Cheryl Blossom’s curse incoming, things are going to be far from normal in Riverdale season 6.
