It’s time for the season finale of Marvel’s What If…? The most recent Disney Plus series in an ever-growing line-up of Marvel Studios productions, the show follows WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki in expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe beyond the movies.
The MCU show’s premiere episode received positive reviews from fans and critics as Captain Carter entertained us all, giving us an idea of how different things in the MCU timeline could have worked out if just one thing had been different to begin with. After that, the second episode saw T’Challa himself (a.k.a. Black Panther) as none other than Star-Lord, with the episode imagining what would happen if the MCU’s King of Wakanda had crossed paths with Yondu and the Ravagers instead.
The third installment saw Loki arrive on Earth at the same time that the Avengers were removed from the equation, leaving the planet in need of new protectors. The fourth focused on Doctor Strange and the fifth showcased Marvel’s Zombies. The sixth episode revealed what would have happened if Killmonger saved Tony Stark during Iron Man. And now, we’re going to see what happens after Thor throws a party as Ultron crashed that party and arrived with the Infinity Stones.
With The Watcher desperate to stop Infinity Ultron in the eighth episode, fans are undoubtedly excited for the season finale to see Uatu form a team of heroes that can stop the android. If you’re one of those fans and you’re curious as to how long the ninth installment actually is, let’s find out.
How long is What If…? season 1, episode 9?
The ninth episode of Marvel’s What If…?, titled “What If… The Watcher Broke His Oath?” clocks in at 36 minutes. That makes it one of the longest episodes of the series thus far. Like What If…?‘s previous episodes, however, it is considerably shorter than most of the live-action Marvel Studios episodes, with most of WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki‘s episodes ranging somewhere between 42 to 60 minutes.
