Marvel shocks fans by killing off major Avenger in barbaric fashion

Conan the Barbarian has his heart ripped out in Marvel’s Savage Avengers No. 25

There are certain milestones that comic books hit. Among them is the 25th issue of a series. Usually, something special or tragic almost always happens in these issues. In Savage Avengers, it was the latter. Conan the Barbarian had his heart ripped out by Kulan Gath.

Conan has been in a long battle with the Kulan Gath. In the last few issues of Savage Avengers, Kulan won. He was more powerful than anyone in the universe. Earth was completely under his control and every hero and villain in that world was killed or his slave. Conan was the last one left fighting to save the world.

With the advice of Doctor Strange, Conan contacts Kang the Conqueror. Apparently, the two of them have been trying to kill Kulan Goth and have failed each time. Thanks to time travel, they could continue trying until they got it right. Looks like they weren’t successful this time either. Although, things are usually never what they appear.

What we overlooked in Marvel’s Savage Avengers

Before Conan’s most recent death, the two warriors were in Citadel Kang. After discussing what happened, Kang and Conan came up with another plan. Armed with the Ebony Blade, the Eye of Agamotto, and one of Cable’s guns, Conan was on his way to fight Kulan Goth. However, before they left, Conan said he needed one more thing from Kang’s collection.

The issue ended before we could see the other thing Conan asked for. Conan asked in a solo panel. That usually means it was singled out for a reason, especially in a Gerry Duggan comic – he doesn’t waste any moments.

If this writer had to guess, Conan is going to get something he’s wanted since Savage Avengers No. 3. He’s going to get Wolverine’s claws (Conan calls them sneak blades). Considering Conan’s heart was ripped out, he may have gotten Logan’s healing factor as well. Who knows? We’ll have to wait until November to see how and if Conan cheats death.
