Titans will return to screens for its fourth season next year, but which cast members won’t be coming back and who will be joining the party?

Titans entertained fans throughout the last ten weeks with its third season. The former DC Universe show is now a HBO Max original and it wasted little time making an impression on viewers of the service.

Taking the story to Gotham City, it focused on the demise and resurrection of former Titan Jason Todd as the second Robin’s interactions with The Joker and the Scarecrow eventually transformed him into the killer vigilante known as Red Hood.

Nightwing, Starfire, Beast Boy, Superboy, Raven, Wonder Girl, Tim Drake, a union between the GCPD and ARGUS and even Red Hood himself all managed to upend Jonathan Crane’s plans and save Gotham City from harm in the season 3 finale.

With season 4 on the horizon, it looks like some changes are ahead for the ever-evolving line-up of the Titans. But who will be back next year and who will be leaving?

Who’s leaving Titans?

The season 3 finale of Titans, “Purple Rain”, did place question marks over a few of the show’s primary characters. Before we get to that, though, there are some departures we can expect.

For starters, it’s clear that Vincent Kartheiser’s time on the show has come to an end given that Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow is locked up in Arkham Asylum (with the Titans’ nightmares to keep him company it seems). Look for the show to introduce a new villain in season 4.

Moreover, we also know that Alan Ritchson will not be returning after his character, Hank Hall/Hawk, was killed early into the third season. As for his partner, Dawn Granger/Dove, she left early on, leaving Minka Kelly’s future on the show unclear right now.

Speaking of unclear, long-serving Titan Donna Troy definitively told Dick Grayson that she didn’t plan on joining the Titans back in San Francisco, so there is a chance that Conor Leslie might not return for the fourth season. That said, A.R.G.U.S. seemed pretty interested in Donna, so we might see that storyline play out for her next season.

Blackfire’s decision to return to Tamaran seemingly takes actress Damaris Lewis out of the equation for season 4, but as there is often a time jump between seasons, she could very well return when it kicks off. And the Titans’ decision to leave Gotham City behind suggests that Barbara Gordon (Savannah Welch) and Margarita Vee (Karen Robinson) won’t be back.

As for Jason Todd, well it seems that actor Curran Walters will be involved in season 4, so don’t be prepared to bid farewell to Red Hood just yet.

Who’s new to the Titans season 4 cast?

The line-up for Titans season 4 has yet to be officially confirmed. Given that the third season has just ended, it might be some time before we hear which new faces will be popping up in San Francisco.

That said, one person who we expect to join the cast in a series regular capacity is Jay Lycurgo. The young actor did a fantastic job bringing Tim Drake to life in  a recurring capacity throughout season 3, so we expect big things for the future Robin in season 4.
