Hawkeye: 5 burning questions fans need answered from episodes 1 & 2
By Mark Lynch
2. What’s up with Echo?
Right before episode 2 concludes, Maya Lopez (Echo) makes her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. One of the Tracksuit Mafia goons tells her that they have both Kate Bishop and Clint Barton. She then shoos him away with her hand and turns around.
From the looks of it, Echo is a crime boss. If you’re a fan of Maya Lopez, you aren’t shocked. In the comics, her father worked for Wilson Fisk.
After Clint’s family blipped out of existence in the MCU, he became Ronin and killed criminals. Echo’s dad may have been among the people he slayed. She probably took his place in charge of his empire. Since Echo doesn’t know who Ronin is, it only makes sense that she’d be looking for Kate Bishop. She was, after all, the one wearing the costume.
1. Will Yelena show up?
At the end of Black Widow, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine showed up while Yelena Belova was grieving at Natasha Romanoff’s grave. Valentina told Yelena that Clint was responsible for her sister’s death.
We know she’s going to appear in Hawkeye at some point, but will it be the next episode?
It makes sense that Yelena wouldn’t appear in the first couple of episodes. There was too much going on. Now that most of the introductions are out of the way, it would make sense for her to appear at the end of episode 3. Especially with this only being a six episode series.
Hawkeye episode 3 streams exclusively on Disney+ next Wednesday, December 1, at 12:01 a.m. PT and 3:01 a.m. ET.
