Hawkeye on Disney Plus is easily Marvel Studios’ most fun project since Thor: Ragnarok. On top of it being fun, it’s been deep and powerful as well. Maya Lopez’s origin story in last week’s episode is a prime example of this.
We got to see Maya as a child as she learned to embrace everything about herself and adapt throughout her life. She ultimately turned all of that into strength and exceeded in life, subverting the expectations of those who underestimated her (like Clint Barton).
Hawkeye episode 4 expectations
Episode 3 of Hawkeye ended with a nice cliffhanger. Clint ran into Jack Duquesne at Kate Bishop’s home with Ronin’s sword at his neck. We have to wonder why he’s attacking or threatening Clint with a cut throat. Jack will undoubtedly make it seem like he thought it was an intruder. Regardless of the reason, it’ll be a mistake. However, Clint won’t be happy with someone having his sword.
The other problem that may come up this episode is Kate and finding out about Ronin. There are a couple of things that will no doubt be going through her mind. First, she’ll be mad Clint didn’t tell her. They’ve been bonding and getting along recently so she could feel betrayed that he didn’t tell her. Second, he was killing people. That may put a dampener on how she looks at Hawkeye as a hero.
Then there’s Maya Lopez and her relationship with the Tracksuit Mafia. Maya and Kazi had words towards the end of episode 3. He doesn’t appreciate the way Maya is running things and treating him. Kazi even went as far as to say that her uncle (who’s probably Wilson Fisk) or her father wouldn’t like how she’s handling things. This will definitely come into play in this episode.
