DC’s Legends of Tomorrow
Legends of Tomorrow has a blast with whatever it’s doing and its sixth and seven seasons are certainly no exceptions to that rule.
The long-running Arrowverse offshoot took on its most ambitious and outlandish storyline yet in season 6 as our favorite ragtag group of time-traveling outcasts and misfits battled aliens, proving that it continues to thrive being one of the craziest TV shows of our time. With that, a series of off-the-wall adventures ensued as aliens kidnapped Waverider captain Sara Lance, sounded like Godzilla while looking like Mothra and, well, competed in a futuristic singing competition. Yeah, only on Legends.
But as silly (and brilliant) as it sounds, the show took great care to bring these bizarre creatures to life, opting for a real B-movie approach in using as many practical effects as possible, and it really paid off, gifting the season with a nostalgic sci-fi vibe.
While the sixth season did go a little too far off the wall in its third quarter, the season contained a bunch of memorable episodes (including one of the show’s all-time greats) and ultimately ended on a high. And with a bold and innovative seventh season entertaining us on a weekly basis (which included that positively brilliant 100th episode), Legends of Tomorrow continues to do what it does best: Fearlessly entertain.
