Spider-Man: No Way Home has arrived in movie theaters and fans need some answers. Beware of spoilers in this article.

You could literally feel the excitement building for Spider-Man: No Way Home as its release date approached. If we’re being totally honest, you could probably feel the anticipation for it this time last year.

With the constant reports and rumors revealing another legendary actor’s part in the film, it became clearer and clearer that the Marvel Cinematic Universe was finally going to give fans the multiverse (or, well, Spider-Verse) adventure that they had been waiting for.

Well that movie has arrived and it’s safe to say that fans are ready to see Peter Parker and Doctor Strange battle Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Electro, the Lizard and Sandman in a multiversal smackdown. But if you have seen the movie, you probably have some questions. Lots of questions, actually.

Spider-Man: No Way Home ending explained

The end of Spider-Man: No Way Home saw Tom Holland’s webslinger make a heroic sacrifice when he told Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to cast a new spell that would make everyone forget who Peter Parker ever was. Impressed by his noble sacrificed and proud to have known him, Strange did just that, ensuring that nobody would ever remember that Peter Parker was Spider-Man or who Peter Parker even was.

With that, Peter’s beloved girlfriend MJ (Zendaya) and his loyal best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) forgot who he was on and carried on their lives as best friends without him. And when Peter saw that they got into MIT, he decided not to let them in on the secret and give them a chance to start over.

For now, Peter lives alone in a New York City apartment. The question remains if he will tell his loved ones about his true identity as Spider-Man and their shared history together. However, it does indicate that Tom Holland will return as the webslinger in a fourth movie.

Spider-Man: No Way Home post-credits scenes explained

The second of Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s post-credits scenes is a trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – a movie we know is coming in 2022. The mid-credits scene, however, that teases one (or more) further off.

The return of Tom Hardy to our screens as Eddie Brock/Venom, as it officially ties Sony’s “Venom-verse” to the MCU and seemingly follows on from the post-credits scene in Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

Will Tom Hardy resurface as Venom in the next Spider-Man movie? That is unknown. But it does seem likely that Peter Parker will cross paths with the Venom symbiote in one of the next installments in his potential new trilogy… or at least an MCU version of it, as it seems that Hardy’s Venom accidentally left part of himself behind, meaning that some unfortunate host in the MCU could very well find themselves in a black suit very, very soon. But will it be Spider-Man himself?

We’ll have to wait and see.
