Number 1: Spider-Man: No Way Home

Was there any doubt what would be number one on this list? Spider-Man: Now Way Home was a truly phenomenal film that absolutely lived up to the hype.

There was a concern that Spider-Man: No Way Home could be a great movie, but still not live up to the massive expectations being placed upon it by fans. Thankfully, this movie not only lived up to the expectations, but in many ways, it exceeded them.

Spider-Man: No Way Home wasn’t just a success for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was a success for the entire film making industry. The industry was hit as hard as any during the COVID-19 pandemic, and many people were wondering if we would ever get back to a place of packed theaters for big blockbuster movies.

Spider-Man: No Way Home gave us a resounding yes to that answer. Screenings for the movie were selling out weeks in advance, and we saw just how big of an event the film was.

The newest Spider-Man succeeded on just about every possible ask of it, and for this reason, Spider-Man: No Way Home gets this writer’s nod as the best Marvel Cinematic Universe release from 2021.
