2. What is wrong with Clark?

Something is wrong with the Man of Steel. Clark Kent tried to swing into action as soon as he heard people in trouble, but when he donned his Superman uniform and hovered over the submarine he was planning to rescue, he was overcome with a splitting headache and confronted by invasive visions.

Thankfully, Clark was able to rescue the people on the submarine, but he was haunted by the headache and the visions once again when he was in the caves during the earthquake.

What is capable of causing Superman such pain and does it have anything to do with whatever the entity emerging from the caves is?

1. What lies beneath?

Superman and Lois season 2’s premiere episode concluded with a pretty scary teaser for what’s to come from the rest of the season. That teaser also potentially revealed the entity behind the recurring earthquakes in Smallville as something – or someone – was trying to punch its way out of the caves below the mines.

Naturally, fans theorized that Doomsday is on the way to the Arrowverse as the iconic Superman villain has been closely associated with earth-shattering events before and, being a Kryptonian destroyer, he shares a connection to Superman – which could explain the headaches and visions that Clark has been having.

Is Doomsday coming?

dark. Next. Is Superman and Lois set in the Arrowverse?
