Peacemaker UK release date: When does the DCEU show come out in the UK?
Peacemaker is making its presence felt on HBO Max in the US, but when can UK fans check it out?
DC’s Extended Universe is expanding. The property which began with big budget movies like Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Wonder Woman is now heading to HBO Max for some small screen adventures as well.
The first of those is the much-anticipated Peacemaker, starring WWE superstar John Cena. If Cena’s association with the DCEU sounds familiar to you, that’s because he played the role of Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad last year. And yes, this is a sequel to that critically-acclaimed movie.
With director James Gunn returning to write, produce and direct (he’s directing five of the eight episodes), DC fans are eager to see what kind of misadventures John Cena’s antihero gets up to.
For US fans, that means checking it out on HBO Max. But what about those in the United Kingdom that don’t have access to the streaming service?
When is Peacemaker released in the UK?
Unfortunately, there is no set release date for Peacemaker in the UK. Whenever a new DC property makes its way to HBO Max in the US, fans often wonder where it’s going to end up in the UK simply because the streaming service isn’t available there.
The reason for that is an exclusivity deal that HBO has with Sky TV, with their original programming such as Game of Thrones airing on channels such as Sky Atlantic. Moreover, Warner Bros.’ DC shows also air on Sky.
As a result, Sky usually receives the HBO Max original DC properties. This was clear when it made Wonder Woman 1984 and Zack Snyder’s Justice League available whenever those films were released on HBO Max.
James Gunn has expressed disappointment at the delay in getting Peacemaker on UK TV screens but he did confirm that, even though it wouldn’t be a day and date release with the US, it will be coming “very soon”.
