15 comic book characters that deserve your attention in 2022
By Mark Lynch
10. Batwoman
It’s been a while since we’ve had a big moment from Kate Kane in DC Comics. This is disappointing considering she’s an amazing character. With Batman out of Gotham City for a while (see Batman No. 118 for more on that), another hero in the Bat-Family will have to step up. Batwoman will be that hero.
In Detective Comics No. 1047, the Scarlet Knight seems to be the one taking on the leadership role. While villains were running loose in Arkham Tower, she was the one in contact with Gotham Police and Oracle. Fans of Kate Kane know that Batwoman is a natural leader. It’s a role she fits into easily. In some ways, she’s better at being in charge than Batman. Detective Comics will lead to her getting a much-needed bigger push.

9. Daredevil
Daredevil just got out of prison and is immediately put into an awkward position. Thanks to Wilson Fisk (who will be mentioned later), heroes in New York are outlawed. They can’t even exist. When this is eventually over, Daredevil will have another mission. He’ll have to stop The Hand.
One of the reasons Elektra became Daredevil was to prove to Matt Murdock that she could do things without killing. She needs that trust so they can defeat The Hand together. The prophecy says that it requires a king and a queen to do so. It also says that one of them will die. More than likely, it’ll be the king (read Daredevil No. 25 for more on that).
