8. Miles Morales

Comic book project: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) (in theaters)

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was beloved by just about everyone who saw it. It was also critically-acclaimed and won a number of major awards, including Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards. There is a lot of buzz surrounding its upcoming sequel and this really isn’t shocking at all.

We didn’t see a lot in the first trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One). Nevertheless, we did see changes in Miles Morales. He’s a bit older, taller, and, most likely, a better hero. Even his costume has a new look. This writer fully expects for the next trailer to show more Spider-Beings other than Miles, Gwen Stacy, and Miguel O’Hara. Hopefully we’ll see what Issa Rae’s Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) looks like.

That said, expect big things from Miles in 2022.

7. Jane Foster

Comic book project: Thor: Love and Thunder (in theaters)

This writer was not a fan of Jane Foster in the first two Thor movies. However, the blame shouldn’t be put on Natalie Portman. The movies weren’t great to begin with. Thankfully, Taika Waititi is directing Thor: Love and Thunder. If it’s anything like the third film in the franchise, Thor : Ragnarok, we’ll see a new and improved Jane Foster.

Natalie Portman has a chance to show comic book fans that Jane Foster can be a crucial part of the MCU. As always, she has shown her commitment to the role, bulking up for Jane’s return. Moreover, the new designs for her as Thor look great. These are all steps in the right direction. Now, all we need is a trailer to see how it looks when put together.
