18. Morpheus (Sandman)

Comic book project: The Sandman (Netflix)

The Sandman by Neil Gaiman is one of the greatest comic books of all time. It has a beauty to it that encompasses the life of an almighty being. Within his god-like power and being is a lot of humanity – something you wouldn’t necessarily expect from someone who’s related to Death and other eternal beings.

The Sandman is coming to Netflix this year and it is this writer’s pick for underrated comic book project of the year. The preview of how Sandman comes to Earth is close to the comic and it looks wonderful. That alone is enough to get this writer excited. Add the superb actors and you have an A+ show coming to Netflix.

17. Lucifer

Comic book project: Sandman (Netflix)

The first time this writer heard about Lucifer in DC Comics was in The Sandman by Neil Gaiman. And like Lucifer on Netflix, Lucifer Morningstar came to Earth to do what he does. With this in mind, it would only make sense that Lucifer makes an appearance here. It also helps that Netflix owns the rights to him as well.

*Spoiler for the series finale of Lucifer*

In the comic books, Morpheus was crucial to Lucifer leaving Hell. If this show takes place before Lucifer leaves Hell, we may see how and why he left and how Morpheus is part of that. If this takes place after Lucifer returns to Hell for good, Morpheus may see him and ask what life on Earth was like.
