16. Homelander

Comic book project:  The Boys (Amazon Prime)

The teaser trailer for season 3 of The Boys showed Homelander smiling with nothing behind his eyes. He just waved to the crowd. After everything that happened to him (deserved or not), he’s probably still in shock. He doesn’t have the emotional maturity to deal with it. Even if he did, seeing the woman you love (Stormfront) without her limbs isn’t something you easily come back from.

If Herogasm happens like the comics, we will see Homelander begin his plan for world domination. His path didn’t happen the same way as the comics, but it makes sense. He went from being the No. 1 hero to being an afterthought. There’s no doubt he will be more devious than we’ve seen thus far.

15. Billy Butcher

Comic book project:  The Boys (Amazon Prime)

Butcher left season 2 of The Boys back where he started. His team went back to their lives and he was on his own. He was offered a job policing superheroes, but he declined. The obvious guess is something will happen to bring Butcher back into the superhero killing game.

The news to watch out for is if Butcher gets super strength. The character not having powers was one of the big changes from The Boys comic book in the Amazon Prime Video adaptation. Butcher getting abilities after everything that’s happened would be hilarious. He’d become everything he hated.
